There’s no working Grammarly coupon code in 2026, and sites that list one are fake. The real ways to pay less for Grammarly Pro are paying yearly (about $12 a month instead of $30), waiting for Grammarly’s own upgrade offers in your account, or getting it free through your school or employer.
We’ve rewritten this page. The old version listed a 2018 promotion that ended years ago. Prices below are Grammarly’s US prices in 2026; check grammarly.com/plans for the price in your country before you buy.
What Grammarly costs in 2026
| Plan | Price (US) | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Spelling, grammar and punctuation fixes, with a small monthly allowance of AI prompts |
| Pro, billed yearly | $144 a year (about $12 a month) | Anyone who writes most days: full-sentence rewrites, tone changes, plagiarism checks |
| Pro, billed every 3 months | About $60 (about $20 a month) | A semester or a short project |
| Pro, billed monthly | $30 a month | Trying Pro for a month before committing |
Grammarly folded its old Premium and Business plans into a single Pro plan. Teams pay per member, and large companies get Enterprise pricing from sales.
5 real ways to pay less
- Pay yearly. The yearly plan works out to well under half the monthly price. If you’ll use Grammarly for more than five months, yearly is cheaper.
- Start on the free plan and wait for an offer. Grammarly regularly shows free users discounted upgrade offers by email and inside the app, most often around Black Friday and back-to-school season. Only take offers that appear on grammarly.com or in your account.
- Ask your school. Many colleges pay for Grammarly for Education. Sign up with your school email or ask your library or writing center.
- Ask your employer. Companies on a Grammarly team plan can add you at no cost to you.
- Make sure you need Pro. If you mostly need spelling and grammar fixes, the free plan covers that. Pro is worth it for rewrites, tone and plagiarism checks.
Skip “Grammarly Premium free” downloads, shared accounts and cookie extensions. They’re against Grammarly’s terms, often stop working within days, and some install malware or steal the login you type in.
Is Grammarly Pro worth it?
For students and anyone who writes for work every day, the yearly plan is usually worth it: it catches clarity and tone problems the free plan only points out. If you write a few emails a week, the free plan is enough. Try Pro for one month first if you’re not sure, then switch to yearly.
Turn off auto-renew right after you subscribe (Account β Subscription). You keep Pro until the end of what you paid for, and you won’t be charged again by surprise.
Questions people ask
Does Grammarly have a student discount?
Not a public student code. Students usually get it free through Grammarly for Education when their school has a license, or they wait for one of Grammarly’s own seasonal offers.
Is there a free trial of Grammarly Pro?
Grammarly doesn’t list a standard free trial on its plans page. The free plan is the way to try it, and the monthly plan is the cheapest short commitment.
Why is Grammarly cheaper in some countries?
Grammarly sets prices by country, and some countries get local plans paid with local payment methods. You pay the price for the country your payment method is from.

Hey Prince,
You have reviewed Grammarly effectively in a few words. I have been using this tool for about two years now. it hasn’t given me any issues until today.
And, I didn’t know an automated proofreader could be this much better.
Regards,
Chris
